姓氏起源[edit]

据《世本》，禿姓出自祝融之子禄终的后裔。[2]

在上古的「祝融八姓」中，禿是其中之一，其余七姓为己、斯、彭、妘、曹、斟、芈。[1]

姓氏变化[edit]

清末民初，有人怀疑禿姓是少数民族的姓氏，又因「禿」字不雅，有人将其下部的「儿」改为「子」，另成季姓。[1]
