姓氏起源[edit]
相传上古高阳氏的后裔有八人号称「八恺」，其长者苍舒的子孙以苍为姓。[1] 另有传说，黄帝之子苍林的后人也有以苍为姓者。[1]
另一说以地名为姓：周代百越之地有苍梧，后属楚国，当地有人以地名为姓。[1]
苍与仓两姓或有相同来源。古代「仓」为官名，有人以官名为氏。[1]
《古今图书集成》的《氏族典》设有蒼姓部，引郑樵《通志》「以名为氏」一条。[2]
郡望堂号[edit]
郡望为武陵郡，汉高帝时设置，郡治义陵，在今湖南溆浦县南。[1]
